2025-01-18 Meet WRap

-NEW SCHOOL RECORD-

I have devoted much space to the Pinkerton girls’ absolute domination of relay sprints indoors and out for the past three years. After culminating last outdoor season with a 4x100m State Record and having graduated Madi Connors ’22, Jordan Wheaton ’23, Hannah Sippel ’24, Eva Roberts ’24, surely we would see a regression to the mean.

We would be wrong. It can be so fun to be wrong.

Ava George, Camryn McNulty, Bella Sippel, and Nora Brayall took to the cozy confines of Reggie Lewis and straight blasted to the top of the 4x200m record list, scorching a 1:47.78, over half a second faster than the record that was set just last year. Only Nora was on both records; reloaded, they have.

-NEW SCHOOL RECORD-

New event even! Big ups to Coach Dean Squires and all those who spearheaded the training and the entries for the weight throw, an event that no Astro I’m aware of has ever competed in.

So the best throw sets the school record, nice gimmick, you may think. Jordan Chick would beg to differ. His 56′-1″ whip placed 3rd and even got him to #63 in the US for the 2025 season.

-NEW SCHOOL RECORD-

Over on the girls’ side it was Jameson Trask who took the honors with her 27′-4″ toss becoming the new standard to beat. Congrats, Jameson!

-NEW SCHOOL RECORD-

Nora Brayall is far from just relay fodder. No, she can handle herself in the 200m open just fine. Nora dashed the one-lapper in 27.23, a new school record just a few hundredths faster than Eva Roberts handed out only last year. Congrats on a two record day!

There were many other great performances:

  • Rylee Robinson took her first spot on the lists with the No. 3 frosh time in the 300m dash at 44.45. She nudges past teammate Camryn McNulty who had that slot just last year. I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t already thinking 300m IH outdoors. I’m just out here plantin’ seeds . . .
  • Sarah Rzasa lit up the 600m with her 1:39.88 600m, No. 5 in school history. She moves past Macy Graves ’21, a career cut in half by the pandemic. Most impressive, Sarah’s time shoots her to the very top of the NH leaderboard this season.
  • Bella Sippel’s 200m was quality. Her 27.44 puts her No. 3 All-Time.
  • Katie Coleman leaped out to 16′-4.00″, No. 12 All-Time, so the Top 10 watch begins.
  • Matt Morrison’s meet winning 55m time of 6.51 puts him at No. 2 on the senior list, easing past Caden Michaud ’24 among others. Matt already holds a share of the school record at 6.47.
  • Michael Duarte looked great in both the 400m and the 300m. His 39.14 in the 300m is No. 3 among all freshman, moving past Kaycee Scheibert ’17 and Jason Harris ’05.
  • They are still mixing it up in the boys’ middle distance. Jason Robie’s 2:39.31 is No. 3 with the sophomores, moving by 1980s legend and former school record holder Todd Elliot ’89.
  • Oliver Gould unleashed a nearly 21′ long jump that puts him No. 8 All Time and No. 2 among all juniors at 20′-11.50″.
  • Braydon Parker ran great in the 200m, No. 2 All-Time.

There were many other PRs and impressive performances out there, but I’ve hit my word limit ðŸ™‚ More PRs and debuts below:
