Pinkerton Academy Outdoor Track

Old New Hampshire adage: We don’t call it spring track. We call it outdoor track. If you know, you know.

Outdoor track records are a little ragged compared to indoor. The information is not only harder to find (regular season meets aren’t very regular) but there is just more of it (more events). My archive research is still active here, so the records may update when I find new high-level performances. Like a new school record in the boys’ long jump (1989) I just found in 2025!

The NHIAA converted to metric track events in 1980, so track events only go back that far. The javelin implement was changed in 2003 (with one Mihalko exception), so those records only go back that far. Other field events are comparable back as far as I can find records, which is why a handful of 1960s and 1970s records show up.

My work with the boys team started in 2012, a nearly 10-year head start from when I started collecting information for the girls. I have more history with girls’ postseason meets, but have more regular season meets for boys. Also, we’ve run a heckuva lot of boys some years. Database stats:

Girls are over 696 athletes, 284 meets, 4,196 performances, 376 relay performances.

Boys are over 757 athletes, 338 meets, 9,035 performances, 572 relay performances.

Meet or season summaries will be posted below. There are some old ones there I posted to an old group, hopefully more coming as we run through the seasons. Records posted at right. If you have old material that would be cool to post, I’ll take it.

And by all means – if you have any track meet info from any era you think I might not have, I surely want it. I’ll take photos, too, and find some way to post those for fun, too (and help beautify all this white space).
