Pinkerton Indoor Track Archives

The first set of archives is from a box found in a Shepherd Building supply closet in 2023. It’s entirely possible no one even saw it for several decades. Unlike my Coach Roberts’ luck (staff threw away 25 years of track seasons the week before I arrived), this time someone turned over the box to Ed Vaitones, a former Pinkerton girls’ track coach. And luckily again, I had made some contact with Ed a while back, he remembered me, and asked if I would be — OF COURSE I WOULD BE INTERESTED. He sent me the treasure chest, full of everything Coach Kathy O’Connell had kept while she coached the girls’ indoor team from 1979 to 1985. I’ve sorted the scans by year and added Derry News articles to complete the story. You can always tell those because they are white and not newspaper yellow. Now posted, I’m hoping some alumni will check in and add any stories they wish to. Enjoy the scroll.
