The Astros got in some straight track and some field events at the Hackler Fieldhouse, competing against Windham and Salem. High schools are cobbling together what competitive events they can and I am thankful to all the coaches and the athletic directors working to make something happen.
Jordan Wheaton sets a new PR in the high jump and in the process moves out of a tie with many for the third highest height in school history to the second highest. The top spot belongs to Emily Lesbert ’20 at 5’-4.00”. Jordan is now in a tie for 2nd all-time with her leap of 5’-2.00”. She shares the spot with Beth Labossier ‘12, Kim Spofford ‘85, Leah White ‘87, Abby Willets ‘97, and Nikki Pelletier ‘95.
Hannah Sippel ran a fine mid-season time of 7.82 in the 55m dash, which actually puts her 18th all-time and 6th as a sophomore. Around her on the all-time list are Hannah Frazier ’19 and Jacki Sherry ’02.
The boys got in their competition, too. Jacob Spezzaferri got under the 7.00 line in both prelims and finals while squeezing in a 5’-6” high jump. George Nigro got the best shot put of the day for the Astros at 38’-6.25”.
